Eri Kato holds a Ph.D degree from united graduated school of agricultural science, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.
She worked at Faculty of Economics, Oita University, and then has been working at Chiba University since October, 2015.
Her discipline is forest policy. Her research interest is human dimensions of wildlife, especially about community-based management for crop-raiding.
A theme of doctoral thesis is “Evaluation of the collaborate management of the human-wildlife conflict and the future natural resource management: From the viewpoint of social capital”. Her research fields are farming villages of Chiba, Tochigi, and Oita Prefecture.
Her recent interests are in rural development led by wildlife management and youth involvement in rural area. She’d like to keep thinking the future of rural area form the viewpoint of local resident
