Research

  1. Tryptophan metabolism : ACMSD* plays a key role in regulating NAD biosynthesis and the generation of quinolinate from tryptophan. Current research projects are examining the following aspects of ACMSD action:
    ・the transcriptional regulation of ACMSD gene expression
    ・the involvement of the ACMSD in inflammation and immunity
  2. The effect of vegetables, cereals and their ingredients on disease prevention and physiological function.
  3. Evaluation of food safety : Various food ingredients have been increasingly used as foods for specified health uses in Japan. However, there is little information concerning the safety of them under disease conditions.  We are developing the evaluation methods for food safety.
