愛知県豊田市生まれ。名古屋大学工学部生物機能工学科を卒業後、同大学院工学研究科物質制御工学専攻を修了し、2002年博士(工学)取得。名古屋大学工学部助手、Ecole Normale Supeieure博士研究員、日本学術振興会特別研究員(DC2, PD)、JST-CREST研究員、千葉大学園芸学部産学官連携研究員、理化学研究所協力研究員などを経て2010年4月より現職。専門は糖鎖工学・有機化学。天然および非天然型生理活性オリゴ糖鎖の合成とその機能化。所属学会は日本農芸化学会、日本糖質学会など。
