経歴

名古屋生まれ、1992年京都大学大学院を卒業後、北海道立林業試験場に勤務、2003年より千葉大学園芸学部に勤める。
"Evaluation of morphological plasticity in crown display and its effects on spatial pattern and competitive interaction in populations"で京都大学より博士(理学)の学位を受ける。専門は植物生態学、森林生態学。樹木・森林の生態を、フィールドワークからモデリング・シミュレーションまでの幅広いアプローチで研究する。最近は、機能的・構造的樹木モデルの開発とGIS上で動作する森林のサイズ分布動態モデルや森林管理システムを研究課題としている。
