Hirofumi Dohi received his B. Sc (1997), M. Sc. (1999) and Ph. D. (2002) from Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University. After spending half a year at Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University as a research associate, he worked as postdoctoral fellow at Ecole Normale Superieure (Departement de Chimie, 2002-2004), Nagoya University (Department of Chemistry, 2004-2006), Gifu University (Faculty of Applied Biological Science, 2006-2007), Chiba University (Faculty of Horticulture, 2007-2009), and RIKEN (Synthetic Cellular Chemistry Laboratory, 2009-2010). In 2010, he became an assistant professor of Faculty of Horticulture, Chiba University. His main research interests are design and synthesis of bioactive carbohydrate derivatives and their functionalization.
