Takeshi Kinoshita was born in Shizuoka, Japan. During studying at the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Chiba University, he was employed as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Research Fellow. In 1996, after graduation from Chiba University with a PhD., he was employed as an assistant professor of the Faculty of Horticulture, Chiba University. Afterwards from 2003 he has been present position. At that time, from 2001 to 2002, he researched on the British planning system at the Edinburgh College of Art, U.K. as long-term overseas researcher of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. His major field is landscape planning and design. Other main social activities are as follows. Town planning advisor for the JR Soga-station square and outskirts city area in Chiba city: Chairperson of the study meeting for Yamato-cho crossing environmental regeneration, Itabashi ward, Tokyo metro police: Chairperson of the development committee for the green space master plan of Nagareyama-city, Chiba pref.: the Member of the research group of civic landscape (published The Making of Civic Landscape, 1996): the Member of the landscape network 901* (published Landscape Critique, 2002). Present his research interests are the green space planning system in western world and landscape heritage conservation in East Asia. He also enrolls the position of a part-time teacher of Art & Architecture School of Waseda University, a regular member of the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture, a regular member of the Japanese Institute of City Planning, a technical advisor of the town management of Sugamo district, Director of NPO genki-machinet, etc.
