Yuanyuan Teng is a Lecturer at the Graduate School of Horticulture, Chiba University. She received a PhD in Economics from Tohoku University in 2016. Prior to joining Chiba University, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the International Center for China Studies, Aichi University, and at the JGSS Research Center, Osaka University of Commerce, and later served as an Assistant Professor at the Center for Northeast Asian Studies, Tohoku University.
Her fields of specialization include regional economics and human geography, with a particular focus on China and Japan. Her current research centers on two main themes: (1) the resettlement processes of land-lost farmers resulting from urban development in China, and (2) the relationships between the social and physical neighborhood environments of foreign residents in Japan and their health, well-being, settlement intentions, disaster preparedness, and other aspects of immigrant incorporation.
