Founded in 1852, USAMV is the oldest and largest higher education institution in agricultural sciences in Romania.
The university comprises seven faculties and 15 departments, with approximately 10,000 undergraduate students and many graduate students.
It is highly recognized both domestically and internationally in the fields of agriculture and veterinary medicine.

During the visit, Associate Professor Saito held discussions with USAMV faculty members on the potential for future academic and student exchanges.
In particular, they explored the possibility of international joint research on the flowering control of deciduous fruit trees. This includes sharing species and cultivars, as well as investigating how flowering and its control mechanisms differ under the contrasting environmental conditions of the two countries.
He was also given a tour of the university's research and educational facilities, which provided an opportunity to gain deeper insight into USAMV's priority research areas.

Furthermore, by utilizing the Erasmus+ agreement (an international education program promoted by the EU) signed between the two universities in 2024, as well as Chiba University's "Study Abroad for All" program, opportunities for mobility of students and faculty members and for joint education are expected to expand, leading to broader and more diverse forms of exchange.

This visit has further deepened the mutual understanding between the two universities and is expected to contribute to the future development of collaboration in both research and education.
