2024.12.19
On December 13, 2024, the Faculty of Horticulture at Chiba University held a festive Holiday Party for international students.
The event was organized by Assistant Professor Jiang Xiaohuan, who is in charge of international student support, together with staff from the International Support Desk (ISD) at Matsudo Campus.
This gathering brought together 26 participants, including international students from the Faculty of Horticulture and guests from the Matsudo International Cultural Exchange Association and the Matsudo City Board of Education.
Ms. Shibuya, a resident of Matsudo City, generously brought handmade "Kazari Sushi" (decorative sushi rolls) and strawberry daifuku.
Some international students also contributed dishes from their home countries.
The party was filled with exciting activities.
One of the highlights was a sushi-making demonstration by Ms. Shibuya, where she showcased the traditional "Shikai-maki" sushi from Chiba prefecture.
The intricate designs and vibrant colors of the sushi cross-sections fascinated the international students, drawing exclamations of admiration and delight.
This Holiday Party provided a wonderful opportunity for international students to connect with local community members, deepening mutual understanding and fostering a spirit of cultural exchange.
